International Medical Group Gets Social with its Global Service
IMG Logs 2,931 Volunteer Hours, Celebrates with #1For1 Campaign
INDIANAPOLIS (June 6, 2016) — International Medical Group®, Inc. (IMG®), a leader in global benefits and assistance services, is pleased to announce that its employees have served 2,931 hours of community service over the past year — exceeding the company’s goal of serving 2,500 volunteer hours.
“Surpassing our goal of 2,500 hours of service highlights just how dedicated our employees are to being there for the global community — whether that’s inside or outside of the office,” said President Todd. A. Hancock. “We truly value our employees’ efforts and wanted to celebrate in such a way that the public could also participate.”
To celebrate their achievement, IMG hosted a #1For1 fundraising campaign on its Facebook page, benefiting Direct Relief, a humanitarian aid organization whose mission is to improve the health and lives of people worldwide who have been affected by poverty or emergencies.
“Supporting Direct Relief made perfect sense, as our missions strongly align,” Hancock said. “We are both invested in protecting and enhancing the health and well-being of people worldwide.”
For every “like” the #1For1 Facebook post received between 12 p.m. EDT June 1 and 11:59 a.m. EDT June 2, IMG committed to donating $1 to Direct Relief. Having received 3,338 “likes” during that time frame, IMG is pleased to announce it will donate $3,338 to the organization’s international programs.
Direct Relief’s Director of Development Millie Barrett said, “We are grateful for IMG’s incredible support and contribution. This donation will help us increase access to quality health care for those in need in countries worldwide.”
The Facebook fundraising campaign marked the end of IMG’s year-long commitment to serve 2,500 hours of community service between June 2015 and May 2016, which the company pledged last year in commemoration of its 25th anniversary.
