IMG Maintains ISO 14001:2004 Certification

IMG announced that its U.S. headquarters received confirmation of its continuing certification to ISO 14001:2004.  In 2009, IMG implemented a functional Environmental Management System (EMS) and met requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 standard to become certified.  IMG is one of the first companies known in its industry to receive this type of certification.

As part of the standard, IMG must undergo a series of annual internal audits, in addition to an annual third party surveillance audit, to ensure ongoing conformance to ISO 14001 requirements, and to confirm its employees are educated and trained.  In 2009, with the assistance of Cornerstone Environmental, Health and Safety, an ISO development, implementation and training consultant, IMG set annual objectives to reduce its waste and electrical usage.  The American National Registrar, an independent auditor, verified that IMG has the proper programs in place, its staff is well-informed and that it successfully passed its annual review.  The auditor notes the EMS is well-developed, communicates policies and objectives and has an excellent example of management support.
